A coordinated early-morning operation in Kankakee County resulted Tuesday in the arrest of a man accused in a series of sexual offenses that authorities say involve minors. The case, which includes warrants from Florida and an outstanding Will County charge, now moves toward an extradition hearing that could transfer the suspect to another state.
Law enforcement identified the suspect as Jacob D. Clark, 34, a resident of rural Chebanse. Deputies took Clark into custody at his home at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday after warrants related to alleged sexual crimes were executed.
Kankakee County Sheriff’s deputies worked with the U.S. Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force for the arrest. Clark is being held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center in Kankakee pending the next legal steps.

In addition to an outstanding warrant from Will County, Florida authorities have issued multiple charges. Officials listed the following counts against Clark:
- Use of a child in a sexual performance
- Tampering with a witness and/or victim
- Transmission of material harmful to minors
- Unlawful use of a two-way communication device
Clark remains in custody as he awaits an extradition hearing that will determine whether he will be transferred to face the Florida warrants. Authorities have not released further details about the alleged incidents.

The involvement of a federal fugitive task force and county deputies highlights the multi-jurisdictional nature of the investigation and the potential for cross-state prosecution. Community members seeking updates should expect further statements from law enforcement as the case proceeds through the courts.
