Show summary Hide summary

UpLifted Care in Bourbonnais is running a series of grief- and caregiver-focused events this March, highlighted by a caregiver support meeting on Wednesday, March 11. The sessions aim to help family carers address hard topics around serious illness so they can be less anxious and more present with their loved ones.

The caregiver support meeting runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 11 at the Uplifted Care Community Grief Center, 3115 N. 1000 W. Road. The featured talk, titled “Embracing LIFE – Normalizing Difficult Conversations to Reduce Fear and Help Celebrate Life,” focuses on practical ways to bring sensitive subjects into conversation early, which organizers say can reduce uncertainty and allow caregivers to focus on quality time rather than logistics.

To reserve a place, callers should contact the center at 815-939-4141. Registration is required for all groups; events are offered at no charge.

Family night and other March highlights

These gatherings are intended for people providing support to someone with a serious illness as well as those processing bereavement. Organizers emphasize creating safe spaces where practical planning and emotional support can happen together.
