Great Olympic swims

Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School Special Olympics Swim Team, coached by Darlene Cipcich, had an awesome season. Three of the six athletes went to State competition in Normal, June 13, 14 and 15, 2004. Derrick Bradford earned two gold medals for the 25M and 50M freestyle; Brittany Pollack earned a gold medal in 25m backstroke and a silver in the 25M freestyle; and John Gard earned two silver medals in the 25M and 50M freestyle.

Other swimmers on the team competed in the District Meet in March, including Daniel Kuchenbacker who earned three silver medals for the 25M, 50M freestyle and 4 x 25m relay; and Cassie Perkins who earned a silver medal for the relay as well as fourth place ribbons in the 25M and 50M freestyle. Lisa Hardy also swam and placed first in the 50M breaststroke and 100M freestyle at the BBCHS and River Valley Special Recreation Invitational held in May.
