Artistic feats earn martial arts rewards
It's the practice of the art of hand and foot, and for some area martial artists their preparation had great rewards. Members of Olympic Arena Martial Arts participated in a Tae Kwon Do tournament in Streamwood Sunday, May 5 finishing the day with four of the students winning trophies. Adam O'Brien of Kempton took first place in three events. The orange belt won first place in sparing, board breaking and form. Jessica Burton is an orange belt from Manteno who won first place in form and second place in sparing. Mike Sample, a yellow belt from Manteno, placed first in sparing and first in form. Joe Bandy is an orange belt from Peotone and won second place in sparing and second place in form. The tournament had the Marty Basham's Olympic Arena students competing against several Tae Kwon Do schools. |
