The Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School badminton team finished third at the Andrew Class AA sectional Thursday, May 6 and will send two to state. The doubles team of Stacey Snodgrass and Jenny Yung finished in third place after starting sectional play seeded third. A 15-2, 15-0 beating of Oswego was the first win of the tournament and was followed by a 15-11, 15-10 setback to the host team from Andrew.

Needing wins the rest of the sectional, the pair beat Lincoln-Way East 15-9, 15-5 and earned their state trip with a 15-9, 17-16 win over another Lincoln-Way East team. Snodgrass and Yung will compete at state tournament at Downers Grove North High School Friday, May 14. The doubles team of Kaylee Bontrager and Palav Shah were knocked from sectionals at the second doubles spot after losing two matches. Ame Baldwin and Marilyn Nguyen found their play at singles to be tough when the two couldn't get another win after opening their play with victories.
